Orange Cookies Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ

Today I made a few dozen of these.

Orange sugar cookies with cream cheese icing. I love to bake. It’s a hobby I usually avoid, because I don’t need to have dozens of cookies or whole cakes sitting around. I’ll have to give most of them away, but I enjoyed a couple with milk. They’re super tasty! I love orange flavored sweets. I’m not that skilled at decorative icing, but I had fun anyhow.

Lately I’ve been more interested in photography. I’m not sure if it’s anything I want to pursue professionally at this point. I would love to be able to take good self shot photos, and maybe great pics here and there of my critters, family, and every day life. I’m looking at new cameras and other photography equipment. The biggest problem I have is I’m a hands on learner. I don’t like to sit around and read about technical stuff. I learn from experience. So I’m probably missing out on a lot of key information. I kinda just like taking a butt load of pictures while experimenting with lighting, then choosing the best from the batch. That’s pretty much my style. Point and click.

I still want to work with professional photographers, but I have a hard time trusting people. I made the mistake of putting my image in the hands of shady mother fuckers in the past, and I truly regret it. The sad part is, I had my doubts before I decided to let go and put my trust in others. I took a leap of faith, and it blew up in my face. I’m trying to move on, but I’m going to do everything I can to protect myself legally in the future.

Luckily, I felt pretty safe during my last shoot. I feel as though I’m working for people who have my best interest in mind. After all, happy models = hard working models. At least someone gets it. I have a lot to offer in this industry. I’m not just your average lazy run of the mill, adult industry model. I mean no disrespect to other girls, but this is a career for me at this point. I feel I deserve creative control, respect, and of course DECENT PAY! In the end, I’ve learned that I don’t have to settle for less.

You should take a look at Digital Photography (1-3) by Scott Kelby. He doesn't get into too much technical stuff. More along the lines of “If you're going for this effect, set your camera up like this and go. If this is always wrong in your photos, change this.” It's a great series to get your feet wet with.
I have them in PDF format if you want to give them a peek. If you like them, then you can go out and buy copies of your own. If not, then you can delete them and you haven't lost anything.
Also, I recently bought a Canon 7d and discovered an application for the iPhone called OnOne Remote Camera. Basically, you connect an SLR to a computer, and then you can see everything the viewfinder sees on your iphone, can change all your camera settings, and then trigger the shutter remotely. I imagine it would be incredibly useful for composing your own self photos.

Your situation with photographers is totally understood, it is extremely hard to trust people these days. I've known of models performing self-shots all of the time and often becoming very successful at it. You strike me as a woman that can easily accomplish that, so I would encourage it. The situation you're in right now reminds me of another models, Aria Giovanni. It seems that she now has a very successful internet modeling career and I can almost guarantee that she has done it with great class. The best of luck to you with your career.
