“Camming and modeling in general hasn’t always easy or rewarding for me. There have been many times when I wanted walk away from it all. The past year of my career has definitely been the most progressive and fulfilling. I’ve grown and learned more in one year than I have throughout the entire five years I’ve been in this industry,” Violet says of her new recognition.

Violet’s literally taken the long and difficult road to get to where she is now.  Having had not-so-pleasant experiences with past webmasters and websites, OnHerCam was more than thrilled to have Violet join the team not only as a webcam model, but also as one of our first featured solo models.  I’ve personally known and worked with Violet for 5+ years, through the good and the bad (we lived!!).  We’ve ventured through some rough waters and obstacles but in the end it was like one of those chick flicks where you have the happy ending and the two lovers running into each other’s arms and embracing (cough:gheymoment:cough). 

Violet Doll is probably one of the hardest working models that I have ever had the joy of working with.  She takes a personal hands-on approach to everything in her career.  She’s not one to just sit back and collect money from sales, but she puts forth the hard work in her photo and video editing, site updates, content production, promo, conventions, social networking, and just about every aspect she can get her hands on.  She cares a great deal about her fans and her product.  She strives hard to bring forth a website unlike any other out there with her personal touch.  If she’s not happy, she’ll push herself and our entire staff and team harder…and it works.

The internet’s favorite alt model continues to expand her reach by working with Gary Yap and Roger Leatherwood of ArtOverLifeStudios on an edgy new comic series called UltraViole(n)t.  Violet has been working closely with Gary Yap to bring this project to life.  Both are more than happy with the end result and they are currently releasing new panels twice a week (Tues and Thurs).  The team here at OnHerCam couldn’t be more excited to have someone of Gary’s talent working with Violet and our other models to bring something unique to the table.  We’re also excited to have Violet attend the 2011 Comic Con Convention in July to bring the project full-circle where Violet can finally meet the artists as well as some of her fans in person.

Violet has also taken her talent to the Alt Porn Site, GodsGirls where she also releases exclusive pic sets, blogs and more.  Through GodsGirls, Violet is better able to tap the alt market fanbase as well as interact with other alt models.  Perhaps one of Violet’s best assets is that she is always willing to help out her fellow camgirls and models on both GodsGirls and OnHerCam. She’ll take the time to offer guidance, advice, technical assistance and more to other girls.  She stays very grounded and always has a soft spot for other models trying to navigate their way through the industry.

Some of Violet’s most well-known releases have featured some unique eye-candy for the sci-fi and comic nerds out there.  She’s produced original content with Iron Man, Batman, Alien, Marvel Comics and other themes that have left nerds all over the internet drooling and eagerly awaiting to see what Violet will do next to please their palettes.   Places such as BuzzFeed, G4 TV, Playboy, XBiz and numerous other media outlets have also recognized Violet’s uniqueness and shown her the love she deserves. 

With all of this awesomeness, it’s easy to see why Violet’s fans voted for her as the Model of the Year.  Violet plans on using her cash winnings to give back to her fans by purchasing items to enrich her content.  

Violet’s done more in less than a year since joining the OnHerCam team than she has her entire career online and we couldn’t be more proud.   It truly is an honor for us to have Violet on our team and we hope to continue working with her until she’s an old lady beating her manslaves with her dirty Depends.  We know this is only the beginning for this busty alt nerd and we can’t wait to see what is to come.

I got home about an hour ago, and I’m still thawing out.  It snowed yesterday and today.  It’s about 17 °F outside.  I’ve been avoiding the cold, but I really needed to get out.  So I ran a few errands and went thrifting.

There was a woman at St. Vincent De Paul who smelled like disinfectant and dead flowers.  Rubbing alcohol with sickly sweet undertones of synthetic floral fragrance.  I assume she bathes in gallons of cheap perfume.  She had leathery skin, a matted old leopard print coat, and her black eyeliner was running into her crows feet.  She was amusing, even if her smell made me nauseous.   The old lady who was coughing profusely, (I swear she was following me) and awkward preteen boy watching three televisions with shitty reception amongst broken furniture, they were kind of sad.  It was a bit too much gritty reality for one night.  I didn’t find much there, but I had pretty good luck at the other thrift store.  Found a few things for my walls.

So now I’m sitting at my desk with cold hands and feet, while my ferrets are rummaging through packages and biting at my clothes.  I also went to my PO box today.  I received two pairs of Sketcher Shape Ups.  I’m not sure if someone sent me two purposely, or if it was a mistake.  Either way, I’m very happy to have these shoes.  I’ve heard good things, and my Mom loves them.  Let me know who you are so I can thank you.

I might make chicken satay with peanut sauce and a salad tonight.  I can’t decide if I feel like cooking.  Obviously my vegetarian diet didn’t last long.  About four months.  I have no idea how I managed years before.  I guess I’m a different person.  Not sure if I mentioned it, but it made me gain weight.  I’m far too selfish to deal with that.  I look and feel my best when I eat fairly generous portions of lean meat and veggies.  The thought of Valentines Day is making me crave chocolate though.  I’m going to avoid it as long as possible, but I’m tempted to make these.

I first took a strong interest in cooking when I was in junior high, but I learned to bake faster than I learned to cook.  I started with easy stuff like cookies and cupcakes, then fancier layer cakes.  My first home made cake was a banana cake with cream cheese frosting.  Cakes with fruit are nice, because they’re difficult to screw up.  They always stay moist, soft, and delicious.

Soon I learned I could make things look pretty and taste delicious simply by dipping them in melted chocolate.  I went on a bit of a craze.  I’d dip fruit, cookies, add color, nuts, fillings, sprinkles, designs, lollipop sticks.  Baking and cooking is calming for me.  I like reading recipes, customizing things to suit my taste, making lists, shopping for the ingredients, chopping, measuring.  Even simple recipes are fun, especially when it’s something you can share or give as gifts.

So maybe I will make chocolate covered oreos and candies for Valentine’s Day.  I’ll give them away, but eat just one or two myself.  ^_^

Christmas was exhausting.  I don’t think I’ll offer to host another holiday dinner for a few years.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed spending time with my family.  Making them happy was all I wanted for Christmas, and I was successful.  I spent three days shopping, cooking, and cleaning non stop with very little sleep.  By the time Christmas dinner was over, I was passing out on the floor.

We watched 28 Days Later, Human Centipede, and Zombieland after dinner.  So appropriate for the birth of Christ.  I’ve been meaning to watch Human Centipede for a while now, but I slept through half of it.  My Sister stayed the night, and we went to my Grandma’s house the next day with the leftovers.  Did I mention I cooked way too much?
